Joshua is currently studying Photography, Politics and Media Studies at Thomas Paine Sixth Form. His article, which has been published on the Film East website, details Media Marketing and Social Realism on one of our set products: I, Daniel Blake. 

Joshua has found writing articles to be a great way to expand his skills and further develop his passions for photography and film-making, saying:

"My passions have always been film-making and photography with the dream of being in the film industry. However, as I explore different routes and careers ranging from fashion photographers to estate agencies my future aspirations are unclear. But I am going to keep my passions up and build on my personal skills like creating digital portfolios and self-educating myself rather than worrying about future career directions.

 

I got involved in Film East by contacting them after meeting them during a BFI short film course in Norwich. I sent my idea for an article in, and they gave me some advice and this allowed me to craft an interesting topic for my first article. We started collaborating on the project which really focussed down on my writing and was taught how to write with a strong and confident voice. I am hoping to continue writing articles for them in the foreseeable future.

Creating articles has allowed me to greatly expand my formal writing skills and improve my independent working skills for whichever career path I take in the future."
