Chemistry

Chemistry helps you to develop research, problem solving, and analytical skills. It helps you to challenge ideas and show you work things out through logic and step-by-step reasoning. Chemistry often requires teamwork and communication skills too, which is great for project management.

 

What will I study? 

There are six parts to A-Level Chemistry. You will study:

Module 1: Development of practical skills in chemistry.

Module 2: Foundations in chemistry.

Module 3: Periodic table and energy.

Module 4: Core organic chemistry.

Module 5: Physical chemistry and transition elements.

Module 6: Organic chemistry and analysis.

 

What can I do with A-Level Chemistry?

People who study chemistry go on to a range of courses in the future, including university degrees in chemistry, medicine, dentistry, pharmacy, forensic sciences, chemical engineering and many others.

Entry Requirements

You need to get a Grade 6+ in Higher Tier Chemistry if studying triple science or a 66+ in combined science.
