BackProduct Design
This A Level Product Design course is a creative and thought-provoking qualification that gives you the practical skills, theoretical knowledge, and confidence to succeed. You will investigate historical, social, cultural, environmental, and economic influences on design and technology, whilst enjoying opportunities to put your learning in to practice by producing prototypes of their choice. You will gain a real understanding of what it means to be a designer, alongside the knowledge and skills sought by higher education and employers.
What will I study?
There are two parts to A-Level Product Design. You will study:
- Technical principles (external written exam)
- Design and making principles (internally assessed).
What can I do with A-Level Product Design?
People who study Product Design go on to a range of courses in the creative industry such as Architecture, Product Design including Engineering and Construction.
What are the entry requirements?
If you are doing GCSE Design and Technology, you need to get a Grade 5+.
If you are not doing GCSE Design and Technology, then you need to get a Grade 5+ in English Language and Maths.
