BackFood Science and Nutrition
Food Science and Nutrition is a subject for people who enjoy cooking and have a passion for learning about food. You will gain knowledge about Food Science and Nutrition and the relationship between food and the human body. There is a strong emphasis on practical work, making this an ideal choice for students who prefer learning through doing.
What will I study?
You can achieve a Certificate or Diploma in Food Science and Nutrition, depending on the number of units studied:
Unit 1: Planning to meet nutritional needs (mandatory)
Unit 2: Ensuring food is safe to eat (mandatory)
Unit 3: Experimenting to solve food production problems
Unit 4: Current issues in consumer food choice.

Entry Requirements
If you are doing Level 2 in Hospitality and Catering then you need to get a Level 2 Pass. If you are doing GCSE Food Preparation and Nutrition then you need to get a Grade 5+
